Chef Tommy with freshly picked vegetables from Del Mar Country Club’s garden.
Please join us in welcoming Del Mar Country Club’s new Executive Chef, Tommy DiMella!
We are excited to have Tommy join our team. Local cooking credentials include 10 years at Pamplemousse Grille and most recently at L’Auberge Resorts. Tommy spent a year in Milan, Italy studying regional European cuisine where he discovered a true sense for fresh and simple product driven flavors.
Chef Tommy offers a creative fare with a modern flair. The BLT is a Bacon, Lobster & Tomato with brioche and miso aioli. The Alaskan Halibut is served with baby heirloom potatoes, chorizo and asparagus with a caramelized onion & corn salsa - sophisticated comfort food! Tommy’s menus will reflect his belief in using local farm fresh produce and implementing sustainable practices. The garden at Del Mar Country Club will be a source for colorful seasonal vegetables.

Freedom is Not Free Charity Golf Tournament
June 23, 2010
A big thank you to all the Del Mar Country Club members who generously supported the Freedom is Not Free Charity Golf Tournament to benefit wounded service members, their families, and the families of the fatally wounded. The tournament hosted by DMCC was a huge success! Below is a snapshot from Monday’s event. Pictured are members of the “Young Marines.” Young Marines is a youth education and service program for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. These “Young Marines” presented the flag at the start of the tournament.
Also pictured is Chyba Pickens, retired Military Working Dog, now residing in Rancho Santa Fe. Chyba was a member of the 18th Military Police Brigade. She served in the military for ten years, deployed to Kuwait and Germany. She is kind and respectful and even at 11 years, still very active and curious. (Anyone can adopt a retiring Military Working Dog. Chyba was adopted through Military Working Dog Adoptions. Their website is: http://www.militaryworkingdogadoptions.com.)
Thank you once again for supporting those who keep us free and safe!
